| #1 | Congratulations to the Blackrock players, mentors ,parents and the numerous sponsors and supporters for the Kilkenny experience. It was very easy to be proud of Blackrock Hurling Club last week-end.
Whilst we did not win we were worthy representatives of the Club and Cork and gave four tremendous performances at the Feile Finals.
It was also worth noting the presence and support of the Chairman and Secretary of the Cork County Bord na n-Og at our games in Kilkenny. |

| #2 | A great performance by the Rockies, they did the club proud. Blackrock and Cork had a huge support at the games and the whole operation out of Church Road appeared very professional and well organised. Why no mention in the local newspapers?
Tom Humphries in the Dublin Times was on again about Dublin hurling yesterday. Does he remember that he was also extolling the victory of Kilmacud Crokes two years ago when they caught the Rockies with three last minute goals.Recently he commented that Kilmacud regretted that victory as most of the players no longer hurl to any extent. Does anyone know what became of the Kilmacud team of 2005? It was nice to hear that Brian Cody thought the Blackrock/Castleknock game was the greatest game of under 14 hurling he had seen played, yet this would come as a surprise to many in Cork.
While no one should take from the Castleknock victory, one could not help but wonder at the size of some of their forwards, Setanta Sports in their account of the Feile suggested that two of their forwards were well over six foot and pretty weighty by the look of them. Will these be still hurling at minor? |
